A cafe in the heart of Preston city centre has been put up for sale.

Winckleys Sandwich and Coffee Bar in Winckley Street, off Fishergate, is on the market.

Alessandro Possami said it was time to consider other options.

He told Blog Preston: “After ten years of developing Winckleys I just feel that it’s time to move on to pastures new. I am extremely driven to find someone who will push the business to new heights and continue the hard work that I have started.”

He said in a post on the cafe’s Facebook page: “Dear lovely customers, after 10 awesome years the time has come for us to start thinking about handing the reigns over to someone new, if you are seriously interested then please get in touch.

“We politely ask that you do not quiz the staff and now more than ever it’s so important that you support us, nothing is going to happen over night so we will all be here for a while yet.

“We hope to see you again soon for lovely coffee and great food.”
