A pedestrian has been taken to hospital following a crash in Ribbleton.
Preston Police confirmed a male pedestrian – age unknown – had been taken to Royal Preston Hospital.
Inspector Martin Bishop said the pedestrian was conscious at the scene but his injuries were described as ‘significant’.
The incident, involved one car, took place near the McColls convenience store close to the Farringdon Lane junction.
A number of Blog Preston readers have reported a heavy police presence near the Ribby Lodge pub throughout Monday (29 January) evening.
A police spokesman confirmed an eight-year-old boy had been involved in the collision with a Nissan car.
He suffered a head and ankle injury and was taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Merseyside for treatment.

The incident took place around 6.25pm on Monday.
No arrests have been made at this stage and there are no further details about the injuries of those involved.
