A Preston games store is expanding to include space for a gaming arena.
GAME in the St George’s Shopping Centre is taking over the next-door unit.
It will create Belong, a space for gamers to compete in tournaments, enjoy gaming nights and use VR headsets.
Store manager at GAME Preston Danielle Berd said: We’re delighted to be moving into our new store in St George’s. With more space in a great location, we’ll be able to bring even more standout new games, consoles and accessories to our customers.
“The move also allows us to introduce BELONG to the city. Our hugely popular arenas are perfect for anyone who’d like to enjoy everything gaming has to offer, from families and casual gamers to passionate fans. We’ll also be launching Preston’s first ever esports team – the Preston Invincibles – representing the city in the nationwide Arena Clash UK series.”

The store is expanding to include the former Saints and Sinners clothing shop next door.
Centre manager at the St George’s Shopping Centre Andrew Stringer said: “GAME has already had a presence in St George’s for many years, but the move to a more sizeable unit is exciting news for Preston’s community of gaming fanatics.
“I’m sure the move will be welcome news to Preston gamers. Its state-of-the-art facilities will provide them with a space to hang out with friends and do what they enjoy best.”
The gaming arena and new larger GAME store is due to open on Friday 2 February.
