A Preston signage firm has received a national award for its striking art work at Moor Park High School and Sixth Form College.
AdvertisementSigns Express Preston, owned by father-and-son duo Stephen and Ben Hall, produced 13 separate digital wall coverings, stained glass effect window displays and large-scale wallpaper on staircases and corridors to display around the school.
The local company, based at Rough Hey Road, beat 64 other signage companies to win the ‘Most Striking Design or Sign’ Award at the national awards ceremony in Norwich, in recognition of their creative installations.
Ben Hall said: “Winning a national award is great recognition for the team here in Preston and showcases the quality of work we produce.
“Equally satisfying is the knowledge that Moor Park School is delighted with the signage and we have received tremendous feedback from staff and students.
“We have a lot of experience in the education sector and are equipped to handle the trickiest of briefs.
“At Moor Park School we had to fit a difficult wallpaper installation on staircases, create a stained glass window effect to match the existing décor on new windows and work on some uneven fixing surfaces.
“We have created a signage scheme that will stand the test of time and is very durable.”

The Moor Park School project is just one of a number of schemes Signs Express is delivering in Preston.
Their other projects include large-scale construction and regeneration projects being carried out by big-name regional builders including Conlon, Warden Construction and Eric Wright.
Clare Danz, managing director of C D Marketing, which commissioned the project, said: “I look upon Signs Express as our main supplier for our signage requirements.
“If it is great customer care, quality of service in the production and installation of signage, then they are certainly the company to use.
“Matt Rutlidge is our account handler at Signs Express and he certainly goes the extra mile when it comes to customer service – His advice is invaluable at times.
“I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a reliable company to produce internal or external signage no matter how large or small the order.”
