The incident occurred between 10.45pm and 11.10pm on December 8. The 12-year-old girl was travelling on the train with her mother when a man started to shout racial abuse at her.

The man was thin and in his mid-to-late twenties. He had a faded tattoo on his neck, which was believed to be a ‘G’ in old-fashioned writing and with a tail on the letter.

He was wearing a black baseball cap with ‘KING’ written on it in gold letters.
