Motorists have been warned to take extra care as snowy conditions present difficult driving terrain across Preston and Lancashire.

Police closed two lanes of the M6 southbound at Junction 29 on Saturday (9 December) morning.

Preston awoke to find a light covering of snow – a very rare occurrence – and the road network has seen a number of minor crashes during the morning.

A vehicle on the motorway has spun into the central reservations.
