Two boys hurt after Boxing Day collision in Lea

Two boys were taken to hospital after a crash in Lea on Boxing Day.

Preston Police closed Lowood Grove, off Thorntrees Avenue, around 12.15pm on Tuesday (26 December).

The pair, aged 11 and 13, had been riding a scooter close to the junction with Thorntrees Avenue.

They were involved in a collision with a vehicle.

A police spokesman said one of the boys had suffered a leg injury and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital.

The other boy suffered a head injury and flown to Alder Hey Hospital on Merseyside by air ambulance.

Further examinations have shown both boys received minor injuries.

Police said they are not appealing for witnesses at this stage and no arrests have been made.
