Toy lovers in Preston shouldn’t be too worried, as the Toys R Us store in Deepdale is not on the list of expected store closures.
The US retailer is the leading Family Leisure, Baby Care and Toy Mega-store that is suggested to be looking at closing up to a third of its UK stores, after speculation that it was struggling.
Founded in 1985, there are 106 Toys R Us stores in the UK, and over 1500 stores worldwide in 33 countries.

It has been implied that Toys R Us are working on a company voluntary agreement (CVA), a procedure commonly used by retailers to close loss-making stores.
Up to 800 jobs are said to be on the line after it emerged that the struggling retailer is looking to close at least 26 UK stores.
However, the Preston store, located at Deepdale Retail Park, is not included on the list of expected store closures.
Toys R Us Head Office were unable to give any comment.
They said: “We are not allowed to talk about any speculation in the media.”

The retailer said that there will be no disruption to customers over the Christmas and New Year period.
