A man has been charged in connection with a burglary which saw a car taken from an 80-year-old disabled man in Fulwood.

Jamie Rawlings, 27, from Preston, is charged with five offences of burglary, dangerous driving and motoring offences.

A number of items were taken from a house in the Lightfoot Lane area of Fulwood.

It was broken into during the early hours of Monday (27 November) morning – and a Ford C-Max was taken.

Following a pursuit the car was found at the Docks, with fake plates, during Tuesday (28 November).

Preston Police said Rawlings has been charged with four additional offences of burglary relating to break-ins in the Hazel Close area of Bamber Bridge.

DC Warren Gibson of Preston Police said: “As a result of this investigation we have recovered a number of items which we believe to be the proceeds of criminal offences. We’d like to ask members of the public, especially those in the Ashton and Bamber Bridge areas of Preston to check their sheds and garages to see if they’ve also been a victim of crime.”
