A new care home looks set to be built in Fulwood.
What is currently used as a car park for Preston Grasshoppers Rugby Club is due to see a 74-bed care home built.
Replacing the car park the rugby club says it is going to create a 150 spaces match day car park on another part of its land at Lightfoot Lane.
Woodplumpton Parish Council have objected to the plans, saying it would increase traffic and the developers had ‘under-estimated the proportion of staff who would travel to the site by car’.
One letter of objection has been received by Preston City Council saying additional parking in Lightfoot Green Lane will result on match days.

Proposals from Grasshoppers state the care home would be set back from the road by a minimum of 8metres and would include 40 car parking spaces.
Planning officers have recommended the Hoppers care home for approval.
They write: “The principle of proposed residential community use within the North West Preston Strategic Location is considered to be acceptable and would support of the delivery of a mixture of uses in the interests of creating a sustainable community within this area.”
