Police investigation launched into rape of a young woman

Police wish to speak with this man as part of their investigation

Police investigating the rape of a woman in Preston are appealing for information.


The incident is believed to have happened at an address in the Ashton area at between 4am and 4:30am on December 3. The victim is in her 20s.

The victim was seen leaving the Church Street area of Preston in a taxi with a man at around 4am. The taxi then travelled to the Ashton area of Preston where the pair departed.

Police are interested in speaking to the pictured man as part of their investigation.

DI Warren Atkinson from Preston CID said: “We would like to reassure the public that we have a number of officers working on this enquiry and we have stepped up patrols in the area. We are interested in speaking to this man and would urge anybody with information to come forward.”
