Penwortham shop is raided AGAIN – police believe same man responsible

A shop in Penwortham has been robbed for the third time in as many months.

South Ribble Police are appealing for witnesses after a man walked into McColls in Leyland Road carrying a hammer.

He demanded cash, jumper over the counter and used the hammer to smash open the till before making off with ‘a large quantity of cash’ and cigarettes.

The incident took place around 7.40pm on Monday (4 December).

The man is described as white, with a Preston accent, medium build, 5’9″ and in his 20s.

He was wearing a black beanie hat, green coat with the hood up, black scarf across his face, grey jogging bottoms and dark trainers.

Police believe he may be responsible for more than one of the robberies in recent weeks.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting ref SA1719244.
