Strike action will have an affect on West Coast Main Line services from London Euston over Christmas and into the new year.
AdvertisementThe strike action, the result of a pay dispute between Virgin and RMT and TSSA, will mean that there will be one train per hour from London to Preston on selected dates.
The action takes place on December 22 and January 5, 6, 26 and 29, 2018.
If you are travelling between London and Preston on Friday (December 22) on a booked train, Virgin Trains advise that you can travel on an earlier service to avoid congestion. There will also be no onboard catering on Friday.
If you have booked a service that is no longer available, you are advised you can use the nearest possible service.

A statement on the Virgin Trains website said: “We have explored a 3.6% pay increase for 2017 which has been rejected by RMT and TSSA unions.
“We remain open to continuing talks with the unions but for now, as we know how important it is for friends and families to get together over the festive season, we’re keeping the majority of our trains running with fully-trained staff onboard and at stations.”
Trains will also not be serving Edinburgh on these dates. You can get to Edinburgh by using other train companies.
