House fire in Lea being investigated

The cause of a fire in Lea is being investigated by firefighters.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service sent two crews to Thorntrees Avenue shortly before 11pm on Saturday (30 December).

They found a fire in the hallway of the house.

Firefighters put out the blaze and a man was brought to safety.

He suffered effects of breathing smoke.

A spokesman confirmed the cause of the fire was yet to be established.
