After the former Macs Bar shut its doors for good, plans have been revealed for it to be replaced by a new venue called ‘Placebo’, after new owners were recently handed the keys.
The new coffee shop and bar is being opened by LA Leisure Preston Limited, after they complete an extensive refurbishment.
The former nightclub and bar is set to be unrecognisable as it transforms into a coffee shop by day, and a bar by night.

LA Lesiure Preston Ltd are excited to reveal a new prosecco bar, booths and a VIP room that will be available to hire.
Director of LA Leisure Preston Ltd, Leon Mazzafiore, 49, said: “I was involved in Cafe Manyana which was a Preston city centre venue.
“I was the licensee when I was there, and it was a successful coffee and food venue by day and late bar by night.
“I am looking to take Placebo in a similar direction offering coffee during the day and then food in the future.
“After speaking with many people and researching, people are looking for something different, like music being played by the dj’s in the venues.
“Therefore, at Placebo we want to do something different so that when our clientele come to our venue they want to stay.
“Going forward, we have been approached by several event companies that love the venue and want to hold their events at Placebo.”
