Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service attended an incident in the city centre.
A number of fire engines were seen at the bottom of Guildhall Street near where it meets Cross Street at around 3.26pm today (Decemeber 15).
Lancashire Police were also currently in attendance at the scene.
A statement from Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service said: “There’s a rubbish fire in an underground car park at the junction of Guildhall Street and Cross Street.

“Firefighters were called at 15:26 and crews are now coming away from the scene.”
Hosereel jets were used to extinguish the fire.
It marks the second time this week that the fire service have been called to a rubbish fire in the city centre.
On Tuesday (December 12), crews attended an incident on Manchester Road that was also a rubbish fire.
