Firefighters have highlighted the importance of fire doors after a fire in a block of student flats.
AdvertisementCrews were called to student accommodation in Lawson Street, Preston city centre, around 7am on Wednesday (6 December).
Two crews from Preston, one from Bamber Bridge and another from Penwortham used an aerial ladder to put out the fire.
It involved a dishwasher and has caused significant damage to the staff kitchen in the building.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: “A great example of how well a fire door works when used.
“Keep fire doors closed at all times when not in use.”
