Driver taken to hospital after Penwortham crash

An elderly man is in hospital after a crash in Penwortham on Tuesday (12 December) afternoon.

Two cars were involved in the crash in Leyland Road near to Penwortham Holme.

It took place around 2.30pm and South Ribble Police closed the road for a short time.

A black Toyota Yaris was involved.

A police spokeswoman said: “An elderly man driving one of the cars was taken to hospital to be checked over.”

It is understood he has minor injuries.
