A Preston school has been crowned as the most inspirational primary school in the North West.
Eldon Primary School in Eldon Street, Plungington, won the prize at the Educate Awards 2017.
A total of 21 awards were handed out at the awards hosted at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral.
Eldon Primary, which has recently been rated as outstanding by Ofsted, also came runner-up in the outstanding teaching of life skills category.
Headteacher Azra Butt said: “It feels absolutely amazing to have won. We thought we had an outside chance but we’re just thrilled. We’ve had a superb year this year.
“We’ve just been inspected and we received Outstanding in all areas so this just the cherry on the top.”

The Eldon team impressed the judges with their innovative ways to inspire children, with the installation of a radio station, a 4D immersive room and the creation of ‘Eldon House’ a unique space used to enrich the curriculum.
Ten extra-curricular sports clubs are offered per week and more than 150 children take part.
