These are the latest people charged in Preston’s war on drugs

Twenty people have been arrested or charged as part of drugs raids across the city.

Operation Nexus saw 21 warrants carried out at addresses in Preston.

Court dates have been set for the majority of those arrested.

Detective Chief Inspector Stephen Holgate who ran the operation said; “These arrests highlight our on-going commitment to tackling organised crime in Preston.

“Our week-long operation we hope has sent a clear message to those involved in organised crime that we will not tolerate this activity in our city and on our streets.

“We want to be clear that the work won’t end with this particular operation. We always have been, and will continue, to constantly target those that are involved in drugs supply, as well as the violence and anti-social behaviour that comes hand in hand with drug-dealing.

“This week of action is testament to the network of community members, businesses and partnerships that provide us with daily information to target organised crime and help us protect and keep safe the most vulnerable in our city.”

Here’s everyone arrested and when they are due in court.

Lee Walsh, 30, Troutbeck Place, Preston, charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs. Due in court on 19 December.

Michael McLaughlin, 29, The Paddock, Preston, charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. Due in court on 19 December.

Callum Jackson, 19, Braddon Street, Preston, charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. Due in court on 19 December.

Kevin Brass, 36, Fishergate Hill, Preston, charged with four counts of supplying Class A drugs. Due in court on 22 December.

Declan Carroll, 19, Brant Road, Preston, charged with five counts of supplying Class A drugs. Due in court on 22 December.

Lee Richardson, 20, Princess Street, Preston, charged with four counts of supplying Class A drugs. Due in court on 22 December.

Daniel Johnrose, 26, Fishergate Hill, Preston, charged with two counts of supplying Class A drugs. Due in court on 22 December.

Joanne Houston, 37, Millbank Court, Preston, charged with supplying Class A drugs. Due in court on 22 December.

Carl Wood, 37, of no fixed abode, charged with two counts of supplying Class A drugs. Due in court on 22 December.

Gareth Cornthwaite, 37, Chaddock Street, Preston, charged with supplying a Class A drug. Due in court on 22 December.

Edward Marland, 45, Church Street, Preston, charged with three counts of supplying a Class A drug. Due to appear in court on 22 December.

Lee Gabbott, 39, Meadow Bank, Penwortham, charged with supplying a Class A drug. Due to appear in court on 22 December.

Matthew Carberry, 19, Delacy Street, Ashton-on-Ribble, charged with supplying a Class A drug. Due to appear in court on 22 December.

Cameron Parkinson, 18, Lockside Road, Ashton, charged with supplying a Class A drug and assaulting a police officer. No court date set.

Two 17-year-old boys, Two 15-year-old boys and a 16-year-old boy were also in connection with supplying Class A drugs. They cannot be named for legal reasons.

One, a 15-year-old boy from Preston, has been cautioned for supplying heroin and cocaine.

A 16-year-old and a 15-year-old from Preston appeared in Preston Magistrates Court on Tuesday (28 November) charged with supplying Class A drugs.

A 17-year-old boy from Ribbleton was charged with four counts of supplying Class A drugs and is due to appear in court on 22 December.

A 17-year-old boy from Leyland has been charged with supplying cocaine and is awaiting a court date.
