Temporary lights in place at docks after car collides with traffic signal

Temporary traffic lights have been put in place at the docks in Preston following an incident earlier today (November 23).

A car was involved in a collision with the traffic signal meaning temporary lights have been installed at the junction of Pedders Way, Pedders Lane, Riversway and Watery Lane.

A statement from Lancashire County Council said: “Lancashire County Council is warning people of possible delays at the road junction close to McDonalds on the docks, due to damage to traffic lights.

“A set of temporary traffic signals has had to be installed across the whole junction – including Riversway, Pedders Way, Watery Lane and Pedders Lane – until the repair to the traffic signals can be completed.”

There is currently no timescale on how long the temporary signals will be needed for.

You are advised to take extra time when planning a journey through the area.

A statement from Lancashire Police regarding the incident said: “We were called around 9.30am today to a collision on Pedders Lane, Ashton-on-Ribble.

“A grey Volkswagen Golf had been involved in a collision with a set of traffic lights.

“The male driver suffered minor injuries.”
