Shoppers wanting a Christmas Markets trip can use a dedicated bus service from the city.
Stagecoach has begun operating the X61 which has a few calling points to get you to the markets outside the Town Hall in Albert Square – and stretching across ten other streets and squares in the heart of Manchester with more than 300 stalls.
Running on Saturdays only the service leaves Preston Bus Station at 8am and 9am on Saturdays until Saturday 16 December.
It drops you off at Manchester’s Edwardian Hotel, where it waits until 4.30pm (both services) to take you back to Preston.

The bus stops at Chorley, Adlington, Horwich, Worsley and Salford.
An adult return ticket is £10, and it is £8 for a child.
If getting on at Chorley or Adlington it is £8 return for an adult and £6 for a child.
Horwich, Worsley or Salford it is £6 return and £3 for a child.
A spokesman for Stagecoach confirmed the services would not be accepting any existing concessionary or discount passes, it is is standard on-board fares only.
