If you travel from Preston to Liverpool or Southport on the buses you could soon be enjoying a more comfortable journey.
Nearly a dozen new buses have been put into operation on the X2 route between the two cities.
Stagecoach Merseyside, Cheshire and South Lancashire has upgraded its fleet and the new X2s will include table seats, USB ports, deluxe leather seats and LED reading lights.

Managing director for Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancs Rob Jones said: “Stagecoach is committed to continually investing in our fleet in Lancashire – ensuring we deliver sustainable, comfortable, high-specification vehicles to our customers; providing them with a first-class experience.
“The new buses being introduced on the X2 route are a first for the business and we’re delighted to be launching them. We have worked closely with the design and engineering teams to incorporate a range of new features, which will make the passenger experience even more pleasant and comfortable.
“We’re expecting the table seats to be a real hit, both with commuters who want to work on the go and with families or friends who want to sit together socially as a group.”

Stagecoach operates more than 400 buses across the regions and has spent £2.5million on the 11 new buses.
