A supermarket with five stores in and around Preston has reportedly put itself up for sale.
AdvertisementBooths, which is headquartered in Longridge Road on the outskirts of the city, has seen itself make a loss in the last year and could look for new owners.
With stores in Fulwood, Penwortham, Longridge, Longton and Hesketh Bank the upmarket store is a staple of Preston life.
It’s previous headquarters were in Preston city cente with the Booths arch still visible in Glovers Court.
A statement from the firm said: “Booths has been retailing for over 170 years and it remains a very strong, resilient and well-loved brand.
“One of our strengths has been our ability to adapt to changing market conditions and naturally, we always keep our strategic options open.”

Booths employs more than 2,800 people.
