A man remains in hospital following a crash in Penwortham where a car mounted the pavement.
Liverpool Road – close to Ribble Vets – was shut for three hours on Tuesday (15 November) following the crash.
A 34-year-old man, from Penwortham, was hit by a red Volkswagen Golf.
He suffered injuries to his head, neck, face and legs and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Sergeant Steve Hardman from the Lancashire Police Road Policing Unit said: “Firstly my thoughts are with the injured pedestrian who is in hospital after being seriously injured as a result of the collision.
“We are trying to piece together exactly what has happened prior to the collision and identify where possible why this has occurred.
“If you have any information that you think could help, please get in contact with us at your earliest opportunity.”

A 76-year-old woman from Tarleton, the driver of the Golf, was treated for shock and minor injuries at Royal Preston Hospital and discharged on Tuesday evening.
