A police officer has been taken to hospital after a patrol car was hit by a vehicle in Preston city centre.
Police attempted to stop a Vauxhall Corsa at around 1.40am this morning (November 14) but the incident resulted in a chase through the city cente.

A marked police car was hit by the Corsa on Friargate during the chase. A police officer in the vehicle was taken to hospital for precautionary checks.
One man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and drink or drug driving offences. He remains in custody.
