The M6 has been closed in both directions this morning (November 3) due to a police incident.

Police have closed the motorway between junction 27 and 28.

A significant amount of congestion has been reported as a result of the closure which reportedly occurred at around 10.35am.

A statement from Lancashire Police said: “There’s a woman on a gantry. We are on the scene trying to persuade her to come down.”
