Jeremy Corbyn was caught up in the delays at Preston Railway Station this evening (November 5).
A fatality on the lines near Milton Keynes had caused extensive delays and cancellations to mainline services from around 5pm.
Dozens of passengers at Preston Railway Station appeared stuck after many mainline trains are cancelled on Bonfire Night.
Among them was the Labour leader who was returning from the Labour regional conference at the Hilton Hotel in Blackpool.
He took the opportunity to once again chat with the public and take pictures.
Matt Naylor, who managed a selfie with Mr Corbyn, said: “He was in great spirits telling fellow passengers about his walk down the promenade.

“He’s a great guy and was making everyone laugh. He brought a great atmosphere with him.”
The Labour leader had originally been spotted passing through Preston Railway Station on Thursday evening.
The last time we reported on a Corbyn visit to Preston was when he spoke at the New Continental in 2015.
There, the event had to be moved from the function room to the beer garden due to the amount of people who showed up to hear him talk about becoming the next Labour leader.
