M6 has been closed in both directions

The incident that closed the M6 in both directions today (November 3) was resolved after three members of the public assisted.

Police closed the motorway in both directions between junction 27 and 28 after a woman was seen on a gantry above the carriageway.

A statement from Lancashire Police said: “All resolved. Lady came back over the railings and is getting the help she needs. Members of the public assisted at the scene.”
