Lancashire Police is at the scene of a road traffic collision on a key road.
Emergency services are dealing with the incident which was reported just before 3.30pm today (November 14).
Police have advised that you avoid the area where possible as there are delays as a result of the collision.
An early statement from police indicates that a car mounted the pavement resulting in a pedestrian being injured.
The statement from Lancashire Police said: “We don’t have too many details at the moment, but it looks like a car has mounted the pavement and a pedestrian has been injured.”

The incident happened on the stretch of road near Ribble Vets.
A statement from the surgery said: “Unfortunately there has been an accident on Liverpool Road outside the Penwortham surgery.
“Please be aware you may be delayed getting to us this evening as the road is closed in both directions.
“You may need to allow extra time to get to us, if coming from Hutton you would have to turn off Liverpool Road at Blashaw Lane. We will obviously understand if people are delayed.”
