The money raised by the sale of the upcycled pieces will be used by Emmaus to help homeless people off the streets.
Emmaus operates as a social enterprise and a community with those living within it working for their accommodation as part of running their charity shops.
Damien, a companion of Emmaus Preston, said: “We invited 10 local upcyclers to transform an item of donated second-hand furniture. Participants had three weeks to complete the makeover before bringing it back for sale at the Emmaus Preston Charity Megastore.
“The items are for sale from Social Saturday and the winner will be the person who adds the most value to the item.”

The charity superstore is also offering 10 per cent off throughout Saturday (14 October).
Director of Emmaus Preston Stephen Buchanan said: “Social enterprise is such an important element of the Emmaus model as it offers so much to the people we support, the sustainability of our charity and the public. This Social Saturday we are giving people a chance to support our work by purchasing unique items and giving an added discount to the already great value furniture we stock.”
