A number of solicitors across Preston are joining together to help St Catherine’s Hospice.
More than 200 people benefited from the campaign last year which sees solicitors wave their will-writing fees in return for a donation to the hospice.
Wills Week raised enough money last year to cover the cost of a nurse on the hospice’s inpatient unit for a year.
Director of community and income for St Catherine’s Lorraine Charlesworth said: “Wills Week is a very meaningful initiative for us; it not only raises vital funds to help us deliver our specialist palliative care, but also provides an opportunity to raise awareness amongst our supporters about the importance and benefits of making a will and planning for the end of life.
“Those making a will during Wills Week can get the job done at a discounted rate; enjoy the satisfaction of supporting a worthy local cause; and have peace of mind in knowing that their wishes are formally recorded and their affairs are taken care of.
“We’re very grateful to all of the solicitors taking part, and would urge anyone who hasn’t written a will yet to get in touch and take advantage of this unique opportunity.”
