A CCTV picture of a man has been released by police after a number of break-ins around the university campus in Preston.

Preston Police said this week has seen reports of burglaries at student accommodation blocks within the University of Central Lancashire campus.

A spokesman for police said: “A re-occurring theme seems to be that windows on ground floor flats are being left open and unattended.

“Please can we remind students and staff to make sure that such windows are closed if they are not by them and also to be aware of where they are placing high valued items within the flat.”

The man, pictured in the CCTV picture, is wearing a black jacket, shorts and black socks and shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting log number 2742.
