Apology accepted following police investigation into Preston takeaway racism incident

An apparent racist incident at a Preston takeaway has been resolved.

Video footage surfaced online through the Asian Image website of a man involving in a verbal altercation with a takeaway owner at Milano’s in Corporation Street.

During the incident racist slurs are heard being made at the takeaway worker by a man buying a pizza.

The incident was reported to police on Monday 23 October.

A spokesman for Preston Police said: “We are aware of a video circulating on social media relating to a racist incident at a takeaway in Preston.

“Police were contacted following an incident at Milano’s in Corporation Street on October 23 involving two men.

“Following enquiries by police both parties met yesterday with an apology offered to the aggrieved.

“The apology was accepted and the matter has now been concluded.”

The takeaway owner subjected to the racist tirade has spoken to the Lancashire Post about how more needs to be done to tackle racist attitudes.
