Avenham residents have seen Bairstow Street’s pavements tarmaced as a temporary measure for safety reasons.
While in Guildhall Street the flag stones were removed by Electricity North West during utility works.

A spokesman for Lancashire County Council said: “Bairstow Street flags were removed following an inspection by our highways team. They weren’t stolen. The flags should be going back in over the next few weeks.
“On Guildhall Street we will be instating those flags, as well as some similar areas elsewhere in the city centre.
“They have been ordered and we will be putting them back in as soon as we can.”
