Preston’s university has seen its ranking improve slightly in the latest league table.
The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide has moved the University of Central Lancashire up eight places.
Nationally the university is rated as 93rd, up from 101st in 2016.
In the North West the university is rated 10th, ahead of Bolton and behind Salford. The top North West University is Lancaster University.
UCLan scored 80.3 per cent for its teaching excellent but is one of the poorest in the North West for graduate prospects with 70 per cent in professional jobs or graduate level study.

Around a fifth of UCLan students don’t complete their course, compared to 92 per cent of Lancaster students finishing their studies.
