Codrin Schroder, 18, groped three women in broad daylight – including a woman jogging in Moor Park in April and May.

Preston Crown Court heard Schroder, of Elgin Street, Deepdale, first struck on April 1, when he followed a 20-year-old woman down Elcho Street and grabbed her bottom from behind, at around 12.45pm.

On May 6, he struck again, a few streets away in Milner Street. At around 4.45pm he pushed a woman, 21, against a wall and put his hand between her legs.

The final attack was on May 13 when Schroder was riding his pushbike in Blackpool Road, next to Moor Park at 3.45pm.

He stopped and got off his bike, blocking the path of a jogger before putting one hand on her shoulder and the other on her thigh.

She broke free and ran away from her attacker.

All three women reported their ordeals to the police and identified Schroeder in a Viper identity parade.

He pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual assault and was jailed for four months for each count, to run consecutively.

The court heard Schroder, a Romanian national, had been in the UK for just two months before he committed the first attack. However he has no previous convictions.

DC Caroline Turley from Preston Police said: “I am pleased that Schroder is now behind bars.

“His behaviour was clearly escalating and so I am happy that we caught him when we did before anything potentially more serious happened.

“I would like to thank the victims for coming forward and hope that they can now start to move forward with their lives.”

Schroder has been placed on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years and barred from working with children and vulnerable adults.
