Man in hospital following Bamber Bridge assault

A 22-year-old man remains in a critical condition in hospital following an assault in Bamber Bridge.

Lancashire Police were called to Withy Grove, near Station Road, after reports of an attack.

Police officers found a man with a wound to his head. He was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment. He is in a stable but critical condition.

A second man also suffered minor injuries during the attack.

Police made an arrest on Friday (15 September) shortly after the incident at 6.55pm.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Keenan Roberts, 18, of Whitefield Meadow, Bamber Bridge, has been charged with a section 18 assault, a section 39 assault and possession of an offensive weapon.

Roberts appeared at Preston Magistrates’ Court on Monday (18 September) and has been remanded in custody.

Police continue to appeal for witnesses to the incident, anyone with information should call 101.
