Flat fire shuts road in Bamber Bridge

A fire at a flat above a shop brought traffic to a halt in Bamber Bridge on Sunday.

Crews from Bamber Bridge and Penwortham fire station were called to Station Road.

A 999 call around 10.47am on Sunday (10 September) reported someone may be trapped.

After searching the property firefighters found no one there and the fire was put out.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of the fire is yet to be established.

No one was hurt in the incident.
