BMW driver arrested after police chase at Preston Docks

A BMW driver has been arrested following a police chase in Preston on Saturday (30 September).

The car collided with a traffic light at the Pedders Lane junction at Preston Docks.

Lancashire Police gave chase along the A583 Watery Lane from Lea Gate and the car crashed near the Space Centre.

The incident took place around 7pm and the 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving, driving while disqualified and for failing to stop for a police vehicle.

Where the crash took place is the same junction where Christopher Scott, 32, died in May this year when he was hit by a van.

Temporary lights are in place at the Pedders Lane/Watery Lane junction.
