Ladbrokes Snooker will return to Preston as the Guild Hall is set to host the World Grand Prix.
This will be taking place from Monday 19 – Sunday 25 February 2018.
The World Grand Prix involves 32 players taken from a unique ranking list, which runs from the start of the snooker season until the ‘Shoot Out’ which finishes on February 11.
Preston Guild Hall hosted the world ranking event for the first time earlier this year and after the success, the 2018 tournament will also be returning.
Players are currently battling it out to ensure they make it into the top 32 so that they can compete at the iconic Lancashire venue in February next year.
The World Grand Prix will be televised by ITV4.
Barry Hawkins, who won the World Grand Prix title last year, said: “Winning the trophy in Preston last year was up there with the highlights of my career, alongside playing in the World Championship final against Ronnie O’Sullivan in 2013.
“All the best players were in the tournament and to win the title against such a strong field was unbelievable.
“I’ve won three ranking titles and two of them came at the Guild Hall so it has been a great venue for me – there’s something about it I love and I’m glad the World Grand Prix is staying there. ”
Hawkins was among other top stars including Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump, John Higgins, Mark Selby, Neil Robertson, Shaun Murphy and Ding Junhui, who competed in last season’s final for the prize of £100,000.
