Woman charged in connection with racist abuse allegation in Tesco

A woman has been charged in connection with an allegation of racist abuse in a Tesco store.

Leanne Dawson, 35, of West Park Avenue, Lea, has been arrested and charged with causing racially aggravated distress and using threatening behaviour.

It relates to an incident in the Tesco Express in Blackpool Road.

She is alleged to have become involved in a verbal altercation with a security guard at around 10.40pm on July 19.

She has been released on bail to appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 21 September.
