A group of travellers have set up camp on Penwortham Holme Recreation Centre.
It is believed they are the same group to have been at Tardy Gate before moving sites yesterday (August 29).
South Ribble Borough Council have started the process to remove them from the area.
They said in a statement: “The latest situation is that South Ribble Borough Council has commenced legal proceedings to remove the illegal settlement.
“We are doing everything within our power to get them moved on as soon as possible.”

Penwortham Holme was used as a site for travellers in both 2016 and 2015.
Cllr Keith Martin said on Facebook: “Travellers have, again moved onto Penwortham Holme, despite the assurances we were given by the Cabinet member in Full Council, it looks as if they removed the padlock that held the height barrier as well as the lock on the gate installed for the car park.
“Middleforth councillors have let South Ribble Council know, as well as the Police.
“It appears they moved down from Tardy Gate. South Ribble Officers will be attending the site first thing Wednesday morning.”
