A pub in Preston appears to have called time at the bar.
The Unicorn, in North Road, had its doors closed during Friday (18 August) shortly before 5pm – when you’d expect to see after-work drinkers in.
Formerly owned by Trust Inns the pub is understood to have been sold to property developers.
Blog Preston understands it is now in the hands of Sunglen Properties who are building Cantebury Halls student accommodation next door.
The pub is being used as a temporary site office while the development next door takes place.
The pub is unlikely to be demolished as it is a grade-II listed building, giving it special protection.

The Unicorn is thought to date back to 1832 and was known as the Cattle Mark Tavern.
Blog Preston approached Trust Inns for comment but received no response by the time of publication.
