A driver was punched and grabbed by the throat by another motorist during an attack in Preston.
The incident took place close to the Lane Ends crossroads in Ashton-on-Ribble.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the road rage incident at 9.30am on Tuesday 25 July.
Preston Police say a 46-year-old man was driving a blue Ford Focus when he became involved in an altercation with the driver of a black Fiat 500.
Both men stopped their cars near the Budget Booze and Food store in Blackpool Road.
The driver of the Fiat approached the Ford, damaging a wing mirror, before punching the other driver and grabbing him by the throat.
Police say they believe a female driver witnessed the attack.

Sergeant Richard Horton said: “An investigation is underway following an alleged road rage incident in Preston.
“At around 9.30am on July 25, a Blue Ford Focus and a Black Fiat 500 had stopped on Blackpool Road.
“The drivers have had an altercation and one of the motorists has alleged he has been assaulted and his wing mirror damaged by the other man
“A woman in a red coloured vehicle was blocked by the two vehicles during the incident. We believe she might have seen what happened and are particularly keen to speak to her.
“Other drivers blocked by the vehicles may have also witnessed the assault.”
