Police presence in Ribbleton as houses sealed off

Police have cordoned off a number of houses in Ribbleton after a stabbing.

A police presence has been maintained in Longridge Road since shortly after 2.30pm on Wednesday (9 August).

The houses with police tape around them are on the left hand side after coming over the M6 bridge and heading towards the Fir Trees Avenue turn.

A man was found with a stab wound to his leg.

A police spokesman said: “We were called to reports of an assault in Longridge Road.

“A man was found at the scene with stab wounds to his leg.

“Emergency services attended and the man has been taken to Royal Preston Hospital.”

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting log number 0779 of August 9.
