Police are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of a 68-year-old man who has gone missing from his home in Ingol.

Michael McMurray was last seen on the morning of Wednesday, August 9 at an address on Hargreaves Court.

He is believed to have been heading to a nearby shop to buy a newspaper.

Police have not been able to get a picture of the man but he is described as white, of medium build, around 5ft 8ins tall, with grey receding hair.

He was last seen wearing a short jacket, jeans and shoes.

More: Fylde Road closed for resurfacing

PC Bill Smalley, of Preston Police, said: “We believe Michael’s disappearance to be out of character and we are extremely worried about him.

“We have been unable to get hold of a photo of him so we are asking members of the public to read the description of him carefully and get in touch straight away if they think they have seen him, or know where he may be.”

Anybody with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting log number 927 of August 23rd.
