Murder investigation ends into Geoffrey Street death

Police say they are no longer treating the death of a man in St Matthews as suspicious.

The 26-year-old was found with a stab wound to his stomach on Thursday (3 August) morning, he later died at Royal Preston Hospital.

A murder investigation was launched and a 22-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder.

She was released on bail in connection with the Geoffrey Street incident.

Preston Police now say they have closed their investigation into the man’s death.

No charges will be brought against the woman.

A file is being passed to the coroner in the coming days.
