What is happening and when for this year’s Feast for Peace in Preston has been confirmed.

It shows just how diverse the city is with Indian dancing, cuisine from four continents and lots of exhibitions to explore.

Kay Johnson’s brainchild of a festival has expanded this year.

Food champions and chefs from India, Eastern Europe, Thailand, Syria, South American and Lancashire are creating dishes from ingredients that would otherwise go to landfill.

Starting at 12noon on Saturday (19 August) the festival has performances on the Flag Market through until 4pm.

12.20pm – Feast for Peace Sounds – Axis Sound System
12.30pm – Awesome Party Sounds – Funtime Frankies
1pm – Indian dancing – Majenta
1.30pm – The world’s greatest father and son rap duo – FMA 12 Gage
2pm – The King’s Food Proclamation – Town Crier and leader of the city council councillor Peter Rankin
2.10pm – Middle Eastern dancing – Anne Kingston and the Habiba Dancers
2.30pm – Community Gospel Choir – One Voice Choir
3pm – Irish dancing – Whelan-Joyce School of Irish Dance
3.30pm – Caribbean Carnival Dancers – Aspire
3.50pm – Closing the celebration – Kay Johnson

Inside the Harris Museum and Art Gallery a First World War theme will help explain the rationing and link to food of the conflict.
