Two males have been arrested after police spotted a vehicle with seven occupants, including one in boot.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday (July 4) morning in Penwortham after police received a number of reports of suspicious circumstances in the area.
Police found seven people in the car when it was stopped, including one in the boot.
Four officers then searched the vehicle and found two dagger style knives, a gas-powered air weapon and a quantity of drugs.

A statement from Preston Police regarding the incident said: “In the early hours of yesterday morning officers from Team 1 at Preston were on patrol in Penwortham following a number of earlier reports of suspicious circumstances in the area.
“PC 3265 spotted a vehicle in the area and had cause to stop it. To her surprise the vehicle had 7 occupants including one in the boot!
“With the assistance of PC’s 8091, 2440 and 5780 the vehicle was searched and a number of items found and seized including a quantity of drugs and two dagger style knives as well as a gas powered air weapon.
“As a result two males were arrested. An excellent stop check.”
